Remembering Katie Jay Scott and Gabriel Stauring
In this post, we wanted to honor the lives of humanitarians Katie Jay Scott and Gabriel Stauring. Gabriel and Katie began visiting the Darfur region of Sudan in 2005 and 2007 respectively and returned many times to assist refugees in the war-torn region. Through their nonprofit iACT, Katie and Gabriel worked tirelessly on behalf of survivors of mass atrocities. They brought joy and inspiration to many through programs like the Refugees United Soccer Academy. Katie and Gabriel died in a car accident in Manhattan Beach on November 23.
